Global Entrepreneurship Week today announced StartUp Cup as a featured event beginning in 2013. A formal announcement was made during the Santa Clara County StartUp Cup, November 15, 2012, in Saratoga, California.
StartUp Cup, launched in November 2011, is a global network of local business model competitions open to any idea. StartUp Cup has proven to be instrumental in helping build businesses and create jobs wherever it is launched.
“We have watched the impressive growth of StartUp Cup and the impact it is having by helping launch new firms around the world,” said Jonathan Ortmans, president of Global Entrepreneurship Week. “Competitions like this play an integral part in Global Entrepreneurship Week by helping nascent entrepreneurs sharpen their skills and make the connections they need to take the next step.”
